Kate Pettersen: “We talked the other day, but the hot topic is again, the Nashville Predators. Barry Trotz made some comments about the rebuild. Now they've been taken out of context, but that didn't seem to stir up the group. They've lost (four of their last five) now. So I'm going to ask this again a few days later, is there anything emerging?
Pagnotta: “Well, Barry admitted that he's trying. He looks around to see what is available there. But if we go back to what we said earlier (last) week, he will not rush to do something just for the sake of doing one.

Now, he does his due diligence and checks, just like everyone else. And yes, he would like to help improve his team, especially, you know, with, and second line center. Right now they're banging on everywhere to try to get things going, and the frustration is mounting now.
But they won't just destroy everything. They're not just going to spend all that money they made in July and say, 'Yeah, forget about it. We will go another way.' Not that soon.
So there is still hope. There is still belief that they can get out of this one, Kate, but it will take an effort on the ice to push them forward. Barry Trotz will be watching to see how they do. How can he add specific pieces that fit their game and improve the overall system right now?
But again, rebuilding, yes, that is on the way. That is, let's see next summer if we need to develop and start accepting that kind of program.

But for now, they are focused on trying to improve. And if Barry Trotz does add to this team, and they have a lot of cap space, they have a little over $4.7 million in cap space right now for them to add but no one to fill a life saver. so he will hold back until he gets the right deal.”
