Odyssey is expanding its premium putter lineup by introducing the new Ai-ONE Square 2 Square range.
The main point of difference between the new Ai-ONE Square 2 Square putters – offered in Double Wide, Jailbird and #7 designs – and the standard Ai ONE putters that the company introduced last year, is the use of the center- shafted design where the toe of the putter hangs up, instead of down or square to the face of a balanced putter.
This is accomplished by placing the putter's center of gravity in the same plane as the shaft, as opposed to its toe side. Because of this, the putter resists twisting and turning throughout the stroke, known as a 'zero torque' design.
While some players like the face of the putter to move in an arc, opening and closing the face with the stroke, zero torque putters encourage the face to stay square. This helps players who often try to manipulate faces by adjusting and staying square without input from the player.
Additional loft
While the traditional putter has a loft of about 3 °, the Ai-ONE Square 2 Square putters have more than 6 ° because the shaft is placed at an angle, the structure of the design is in the forward press that removes the face naturally up to 3 °. . Installation designed with Ai
Ai-ONE Square 2 Square putters feature an Ai-designed insert bonded to a White Hot Urethane surface to improve consistent ball speed on the face. However, due to the placement of the shaft directly behind the insert, the window that allows players to view the contours made with the Ai of the insert is covered.
Head options
