Taylor Baird: Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov did not travel with the team and missed last night's game with a lower body injury.

“He was a little sore going into the break,” Wild coach John Hynes said Friday. “I spoke to the doctor yesterday and as far as I know he is still there every day and we will see how he feels when he goes forward.

Forward Joel Eriksson Ek has missed 11 games with an upper body injury and defenseman Jake Middleton has played seven games with an upper back injury.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: It is not known when Ottawa Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark will return. He is out this weekend and will likely play the remaining five games of their road trip.

Back on December 22nd against the Oilers, he left the game with a concussion.

Goalkeeper Anton Forsberg's return is imminent. He was injured two weeks ago when he was rushed to the hospital.

Max Miller: Sharks forward Klim Kostin has been activated on IR and could return tonight. Goaltender Vitek Vanecek was placed on IR with an upper body injury.

Emerald City Hockey: Seattle Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord (injured) and forward Andre Burakovsky (illness) did not travel with the team and will not play tonight according to coach Dan Bylsma.

NHL Free Agents: John Tavares May Be Thinking Beyond His Next Contract

NHL.com: Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews missed last night's game and may be out tonight as well. He missed their last two games before the break with a hamstring injury, and nine games in November.

Coach Craig Berube asked if the injury is new or old: “probably a little bit of both.”

NHL.com: Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes and forward Elias Pettersson are questionable for tonight according to coach Rick Tocchet.

“I don't know if it's every day or every week. That is why they will go to see their people.”

Hughes was questionable before their last game on Dec. 23. Pettersson was on the ice for one period in the third period of that game before leaving.

Sammi Silber: Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin is likely for tonight's game against the Maple Leafs.

Tom Gulitti: Capitals forward Sonny Milano (upper-body) skated alone in an untucked jersey before practice yesterday.

Tom Gulitti: Capitals forward Lars Eller (illness) has returned to practice.
