Jose Mourinho wants a Tottenham midfielder from Fenerbahce

Jose Mourinho has informed Fenerbahce of his desire to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.

The Portugal manager, who returned to management with the Turkish team last week, is looking to strengthen the squad and has identified Hojbjerg as a key player.

Mourinho submits a detailed report on Hojbjerg

According to Turkish news channel Yeni Malatya, Mourinho considers Hojbjerg to be the right player for Fenerbahce.

Mourinho is reported to have presented a comprehensive report to the club's management, outlining the Danish midfielder's potential contributions and emphasizing why he is the perfect player for the club to sign this summer.

The report added that following Mourinho's recommendation, Fenerbahce will now officially begin steps to secure Hojbjerg's transfer.

The club intends to complete the deal as soon as possible and will first review the player's contract and fees before taking action.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Fenerbahce?

A reunion with Mourinho

Hojbjerg joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer of 2020 and quickly established himself as a consistent player in midfield.

Under Mourinho's previous management at Tottenham, he was a key player at the club, however, under Ange Postecoglou, Hojbjerg saw his role reduced to that of a team player, with most of his appearances last season coming from the bench.

With Hojbjerg entering the final year of his contract, which expires in June next year, Tottenham see the need to sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year.

The prospect of reuniting with Mourinho at Fenerbahce could be an attractive option for Hojbjerg, offering him the regular football he craves and the chance to play under a manager who appreciates his skills.
