Carden Park in Cheshire has committed around £1 million to improve its entire golf offering, improving the visitor experience and sustainability throughout.
The five-star resort is home to two championship golf courses – including the Nicklaus course, designed by golf legend Jack and his son Steve – and will benefit from major upgrades including new cart cars and renovated cart paths.
Meanwhile, the Cheshire course, which first opened in 1993, has seen a new line installed across all residences in a two-part project completed last month.
As part of the resort's long-term commitment to sustainability, a fleet of 59 rugged golf carts use lithium batteries, which boast significantly improved lifespan, efficiency and temperature tolerance compared to conventional lead-acid batteries. In both courses, £150,000 has been invested in the restoration of the carriageway to maintain standards after the winter months.
The resort has also added two Greensmaster eTriFlex electric mowers – which, remarkably, are less emitting compared to other diesel variants previously used. More advanced and efficient than ever before, modern electric machines also have advantages including greatly reduced noise pollution and the elimination of potentially harmful chemicals such as water. The equipment was sourced from Cheshire Turf Machinery, who have been serving the area for over 25 years.
Away from the golf courses, Carden Park has also begun renovating many of the hotel's rooms and suites. Model rooms with new furnishings and state-of-the-art showers have been completed, each enjoying beautiful views throughout.

A stone's throw from the England-Wales border, Carden Park is a 1,000 acre site within easy driving distance of Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Chester and Wrexham.
The resort opened in 2020 and is currently nominated for two awards by the Good Spa Guide – 'Best Hotel Spa' and 'Best Spa for Sustainability'. The Spa at Carden has large outdoor spa gardens, a panoramic sauna and an extensive treatment menu.
