Heading into Friday's second round at Pinehurst No. 2, World No. 2 Rory McIlroy finds himself tied for the lead. McIlroy bogeyed his final hole to finish with a one-under 65 opening round. The only player who has been able to match the form of the 2011 US Open champion is Patrick Cantlay.

But McIlroy and Cantlay have plenty of hot company on their tracks, including freshman phenom Ludwig Aberg and 2020 US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau.
