With the NBA closing in on a new media deal said to be worth $76 billion, player contracts will continue to increase.
So as the financial side of the NBA begins to change dramatically, it's a good time to take a look at where player contracts stand, who currently has the biggest deals, and which players will set new records for the biggest contracts in league history.

NEXT PLAYERS TO SET NEW CONTRACT RECORDS
Jayson Tatum is expected to receive a supermax 5-year, $315 million extension from the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. It would be the largest contract in NBA history, with Tatum surpassing teammate Jaylen Brown to become the new record holder.
But Tatum won't hold the title for long. In the summer of 2025, Luka Doncic will be eligible to sign a massive extension worth approximately $346 million over five years.

The NBA receiving $7B per year in media rights will likely cover 10% growth (which is a rate we can increase) per season beginning in 2025-26.
If so, the cap would top $200M for the 2028-29 season. A 35% increase in earnings that year projects to be $72M.
