Man Utd hold talks for £63m striker and Ratcliffe ready to double his wages

Manchester United and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have held talks over signing the £63m Brazilian ahead of Arsenal, according to a new report.

Man Utd are looking to sign a striker

Ratcliffe and INEOS have now officially entered their first summer transfer window in charge of sporting decisions at Old Trafford and have already made a big decision.

The club have decided to stick with Erik ten Hag as manager, with Ratcliffe recently explaining that call. “The coach is not the main thing at Manchester United,” said Ratcliffe about keeping Ten Hag.

“A sports club. It needs competition, it needs momentum, but there is a supportive side because you are facing young players. It has never had that kind of place historically.”

Man Utd are reportedly 'waiting' for them.

With the club's attention now on the transfer window, Ratcliffe has already revealed that United need two out of three summer windows to complete the rebuild.

“I don't think the solution is to buy Mbappe. We are much lower than that. One player will not solve the problem at Manchester United. The first thing we have to do is to build a balanced squad and keep it high. It will come out with one or two players like Mbappe, it will take two or three summer windows to get to a better place.

This summer, a defender and a striker seem to be at the top of the to-do list at this time. Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite was at the top of the defensive wish list, while a number of attackers were on the club's radar.

Bologna striker Joshua Zirzkee is one of those, and Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg said there is a high chance that Man Utd will boycott AC Milan's deal to sign the Dutch player.

The Lille player, Jonathan David, is one of the targets, as negotiations continue for the Canadian player, who is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs.

There has also been buzz around Wolves striker Matheus Cunha, with Ratcliffe reportedly willing to double his wages at Old Trafford to £120,000-a-week. Now, a new update has appeared on the Molineux star.

Cunha renewal at Man Utd

According to a CaughtOffside report, Man Utd have now held talks with Cunha's agents before moving to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have received information about a potential deal, and the Brazilian is also wanted by Arsenal. Wolves want €75m (£63m) for the striker, and it remains to be seen if United and Ratcliffe are willing to pay such a huge price.

Wolves striker Matheus Cunha

Cunha, Zirkzee and David appear to be the three players aiming to attack rival Rasmus Hojlund next season, with the Wolves star more expensive than David and Zirkzee at around £30m and £34m respectively. It will be interesting to see if United can secure the services of one of the three attacking names mentioned, with a deal for Cunha to watch again.
