Jordan Hall: Philadelphia Flyers GM Danny Briere said “everything is on the table” regarding next week's draft. They are open to moving up or down, getting more picks this draft or the 2025 draft.

Briere said the 2023 to 2025 draft is important to them. In these three drafts, they have six first-round picks.

Aaron Portzline: He asked Columbus Blue Jackets GM Don Waddell that since they are looking for a veteran coach, if Joel Quenneville is approved by the NHL to return to coaching, what would he be a candidate for?

“Maybe it's not good for me to talk about what might happen. We all know that Joel is still caught by the league. We will leave it to the league to finally answer that question.”

Jeff Svoboda: Waddell said they have a list of about 12 coaches they are considering but will only interview three or four of them.

“I spoke well in public, we went through young coaches for different reasons. I think at the moment we have to look for an experienced coach to come in here.”

Jeff Svoboda: Blue Jackets GM Waddell said it's too early to know what any Patrik Laine deals might look like. He adds:

“We want to do a hockey trade if we can. We will certainly take advantage of every opportunity.”
