The line is confirmed with McKenna coming to Tierney

The squads have been announced as Scotland face Hungary in Group A at Euro 2024.

Team News

Scotland manager Steve Clarke made one change to the team that drew 1-1 with Switzerland – Scott McKenna replacing the injured Kieran Tierney. McKenna came on for Tierney after 61 minutes in Cologne and did well, despite picking up a yellow card.

Che Adams got the nod to continue in attack with Lawrence Shankland also among the substitutes.

The big news for Hungary is that captain Dominik Szoboszlai is fit after an injury scare. Callum Styles, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland, starts in midfield with Endre Botka in defence. Attila Fiola and Adam Nagy dropped to the bench.

Group Status

The equation is simple for both teams: win or go home! For third-placed Scotland, their chances of progressing are almost certain with three points following their difficult draw against Switzerland last week. Not only did they put them on the board but it also erased the memories of their 5-1 defeat by hosts Germany.

Hungary have lost both of their games so far but a convincing win against the Scots could be enough for them to go in as one of the best third-place finishers.

Coach Marco Rossi said: “It's a game for us, like Scotland, that we aim for in the end. We are confident that if we win, we will go through. For us it is the same game as it will be for Scotland. We will give everything we have on the field.”
