The course manager of Mid Herts Golf Club has underlined the confidence he has in the performance of the Progressive ProFlex 120 rotary mower by ordering a new one after 12 years of reliable service from its older version.
Delivered by Vanmac's James Boyle in April, the five floating round decks in the Progressive unit complement the peaks and routes of the Hertfordshire club's local area making the purchase a direct one for Course Manager Jody Wilson.
One of the oldest clubs in the country, Mid Herts offers a warm, low-key environment with water-filled fairways and fast greens, surrounded by regular grass holes. Although the beautiful backcountry poses a challenge for players, it is not the same as the concert following ProFlex's ability.
“Over the past 12 years, we've tried and tested a number of mowers and found that the ProFlex 120 was the best fit for our conditions,” said Wilson. “Fast forward to this year and we went through the same process again, only to find that there was nothing better than this machine on the market.”
The Progressive ProFlex 120 delivers a uniform cut on both flat and uneven ground, five floating decks cover an area of 3m in one place and disperse the clips evenly for a smooth finish. The ability to quickly and easily adjust the length of cut on each deck makes the mower incredibly versatile, along with a great choice of stepped or adjustable cuts.
“The build quality has always been exceptional, and our new ProFlex is no different” explains Wilson. “We hold our old lawnmower for practice every week. It still cuts very well and, with a good jet wash, will still clean up a treat. Despite the expected wear and tear, we have never had expensive downtime or maintenance costs, and with the sealed blade spindle bores on the new ProFlex, routine maintenance will be even easier.”
The latest delivery complements the range of other equipment from Vanmac already in the Mid Herts shed.
“In the summer, we're now ready to mow the rough and the practice field with the ProFlex's, and in the winter we're big users of the Trilo – with two blowers and an S4 vacuum collector to keep us playing. and presentation.
