Man Utd ready to make a “strong” £300,000-p/w bid on the door amid interest from PSG

Following another disappointing season, Sir Jim Ratcliffe appears to have no mercy and Manchester United are now reportedly keen to sign one of their star forwards this summer.

Ratcliffe, surprisingly, ended up keeping Erik ten Hag this summer despite initial doubts about the Dutchman's job security even after his side beat Manchester City to win the FA Cup at the end of the season. A similar fate may not be given to some struggling stars, however, with Casemiro already being linked with clubs in Saudi Arabia ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford.

Man Utd are now ready to double the star's £114,000-p/w wages as the move heats up.

It is reported that the Red Devils have strengthened their hand.

The Brazilian midfielder struggled to replicate his early season form last campaign and at 32 may have moved on. If the Red Devils manage to get money for the former Real Madrid player, they may not be able to cope in the coming months. Casemiro will join the likes of Raphael Varane out the door following the Frenchman's exit at the end of the season following an injury-plagued two-year spell.

It's not Casemiro's exit that would send shockwaves around Old Trafford, however. According to HITC's Graeme Bailey, Manchester United are now willing to sell Marcus Rashford this summer amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions are looking to replace Kylian Mbappe, who swapped Paris for Real Madrid, and could turn to the academy graduate United are pursuing.

Earning £300k-a-week at United, Rashford was one of the biggest disappointments under the Ten Hag last season after such a strong campaign the previous year. Left out of Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 squad as a result, the England international could leave the Red Devils looking to find his best form again. A person with a degree in a higher education institution, it is not a decision that will be made by any party.

“Tough” Rashford is at a crossroads

Now 26 years old, Rashford should be at the top of his game but found himself below his best for Manchester United last season. There must be an all-too-familiar story about the form of the striker, who was one of the standout players in the Premier League last season before going into oblivion last season.

As the numbers show, Rashford's goal total dropped significantly last season and that goes hand in hand with the fact that he didn't perform well when it came to expected goals, struggling to finish at times. On the other hand, he achieved his expected goals in the season before he scored 17 points.

The England international showed similar form under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who praised Rashford, per BBC Sport: “That's what Stretford End wants to see. They like to see players go forward and play with courage. He was mature and strong when he faced the best players in the Premier League. Today he played like he was in the yard, in the garden or back on the field with his own. He was happy.
