The craziest week of my 20 years covering college baseball culminated Sunday when Texas A&M promoted assistant coach Michael Earley, 36, to head coach.
Earley's hiring is exciting for a number of reasons. He has never been a head coach, but he is a skilled hitting coach who is confident in his ability to coach.
