Clippers Officially Announce Paul George's Departure

Paul George is officially set to join another NBA team as the Clippers announced his departure from the franchise.

“Paul informed us that he is signing his contract with another team,” the Clippers said in a statement. “Paul is incredibly talented and a great player. We feel lucky for the five years we spent with him. During that time, he went to three All Star Games, made the most three-pointers in franchise history and helped lead the team to a place it had never been before. His performance in Game 5 and 6 against Utah in 2021 will not be forgotten by anyone associated with the Clippers.”

The Clippers talked about the ship they sent to George, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, five first-round picks, and two trade picks, saying, “We traded a lot to pair Paul and Kawhi, and in exchange, we had five. periods of conflict. Although we failed to achieve our main goal, we appreciate the opportunities we got with Paul.”

The team also discussed the situation with George and James Harden.

“Going into this offseason, our roster is made up of three strong players aged 33 and over, two of whom are potential free agents,” the Clippers added. “We wanted to keep them on contracts that would allow us, under the restrictions of the new CBA, to continue building the team.”

The frontrunners to get to PG-13 are now the 76ers, who will have a new-look team.

The franchise has already signed Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon since the start of free agency.

Having Tyrese Maxey, George and Joel Embiid working together on offense will certainly bring the 76ers one step closer to victory.

George is on a four-year deal and with the Magic signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to his contract, the only team that can offer George that kind of deal is the Pistons.
