One of the beautiful tennis wives has a new look. Court Suzanne-Lenglen, the exhibition court number 2 at Roland-Garros, named after the legendary eight-time Grand Slam champion whose bronze statue anchors the east side of the court, will have a new retractable roof on Day. 1 of this year's French Open on May 26.

“The lightweight retractable cover, made of canvas and inspired by the winged skirt created by Jean Patou for Suzanne Lenglen, can be closed in 15 minutes,” the competition said on its website.
In addition, the qualifying matches will be held on Court Suzanne-Lenglen for the first time this year, with the tournament eager to raise the level of qualification and thus turn the only clay court Grand Slam into a three-week celebration. Qualifying games begin on Monday, May 20, but the cap will not be used for those games.
“It will allow us to continue playing if the weather is bad and welcome 25,000 people,” said Amélie Mauresmo in a press conference before the tournament on Thursday. “We will hold two games instead of one which will give us a bit more flexibility in our schedule.”
