Remi Poirier made 41 saves to hold the Texas Stars to a 2-0 victory over the Manitoba Moose at the HEB Center on Thursday night, good for sweeping the best-of-three playoff series in the first round.

The Stars will face the Milwaukee Admirals in the Central Division semifinals starting next Thursday night.

Fredrik Karlström scored both of Texas' goals in Game 2, converting on power plays at 12:51 of the first period and 2:31 of the third.

Rookie Christian Kyrou had two assists, giving him four points in the series.

Poirier, who stopped 21 shots in Game 1, posted a .954 save percentage in the two wins as Texas cruised past a Moose team that had beaten the Stars twice at Cedar Park last weekend.

Thomas Milic turned away 20 guns in Manitoba.
