Diego Pacheco will have the support of his hometown in another fight against a title contender.

Ring's No. 6-rated super middleweight will face Maciej Sulecki from Poland. Their regional title fight will take place on August 31st at the Dignity Health Sports Center in Carson, California.

Matchroom Boxing announced boxing on Saturday as part of three DAZN events that will kick off their late summer/fall schedule.

“Diego is knocking on the door looking for the big shot and the World title at 168,” emphasized Eddie Hearn, chairman of Matchroom and Pacheco's promoter. “Maciej always does things and this is an important night for Diego to continue to show the world that he is the real deal.
“For me and Matchroom, it is an honor to promote our first fight at the War Grounds of the Dignity Health Sports Park, a place we love very much as a company since Kell Brook became the World Champion there in August 2014.”

Pacheco (21-0, 17 knockouts) enjoyed a homecoming last November with a ninth-round stoppage of former title contender Marcelo Coceres. Their clash took place at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, close to Pacheco's South Central Los Angeles roots.
The win was followed by a ten-round decision over undefeated Shawn McCalman on April 6 in Las Vegas. Now he is returning home for the second time in less than a year.

“I am happy that I will be in the headlines at home again,” said Pacheco. “I'm looking forward to an amazing night. Sulecki has always had good fights, and he's shared the ring with great fights and caused them problems, but I feel happy with the way my career is going and I'm looking forward to taking another big step towards winning the World title.”

Sulecki (32-2, 12 KOs) has won four straight since losing on points in June 2019 to then-undefeated WBO middleweight Demetrius Andrade (32-1, 19 KOs). The 35-year-old veteran fighter defeated Rowdy Legend Montgomery on May 31 in Queens, New York.

“After a few surgeries, I'm back to where I should be,” said Suelcki. “August 31st, I'll take a little Pacheco in deep water. This is the fight we have been eyeing for a while now and with my new trainers, the Sosa Crew, we will walk away victorious in Los Angeles.

“I look forward to speaking on DAZN again in the Polish vs. Mexican debate!”
