Israel Madrimov revealed that he and his team have seen places in Terence Crawford's game that they will want to use on August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
WBA junior middleweight champion Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) feels he has more than enough experience to make up for his lack of fights against Crawford, 36, (40-0, 31 KOs).
Madrimov says he has “had more than 300 student fights,” 200 of which are from international tournaments. In terms of experience, Madrimov may have more experience than Crawford and face better opposition.
Madrimov notes that Crawford has fought many low-profile fights during his time competing. Although Madrimov wouldn't say who these fighters were, these guys would seem to be the obvious choice for the poor players that Crawford was exploiting:

– Amir Khan
– David Avanesyan
– Shawn Porter
– John Molina Jr
– Ricky Burns
– Yuriorkis Gamboa
– Julius Indongo
– Viktor Postol
– Jose Benavidez Jr.
– Breidis Prescott
Those guys make up 25% of Crawford's resume and are the best fighters he's fought during his career. Some of the fighters Crawford beat were smaller guys.
“In terms of experience, yes, I have ten professional fights, but they are at a high level. All ten were WBA fights. All ten were twelve players against tough opposition,” said Israel Madrimov speaking to Ringside Intel, talking about how his experience will be against veteran Terence Crawford on August 3 in Los Angeles.
“I have more than 200 fights for international students. In total, more than 300 student fights,” Madrimov continued. “I have the experience to fight everyone in the world. The ring will show it all. On August 3rd, you will see everything.
The real question is whether Crawford can handle the GGG-esque power Madrimov has at his age, having been out of action for a year and never having fought in the 154-lb division.
This is a tough fight for any natural fighter in the 154-lb division to take on, but for someone who has aged and been inactive for the past four years and has faced outdated fighters, it would be a step too far for Crawford. .
“There are things we have been looking at. We will not talk about it right now,” said Madrimov. “Since there are many fighters, they lose before they even enter the ring [with Crawford]. They are already in bad shape [of their careers]. As for me, I am mentally strong.”
Madrimov's comments about fighters at the bottom of their careers are incorrect. Crawford was well-matched during his many years by Top Rank, the best in the business at handpicking their competitors to create shiny plastic records, but often with no real substance. It is designed for advertising to sell a fighter to the public as you would a product.
Rarely do these fighters get as close as their performance records would indicate, and they often fall apart quickly when thrown into the deep end. Former Top Rank fighter Edgar Berlanga will soon be a prime example if Canelo Alvarez chooses him. Crawford was similarly protected, and has created a record that does not represent the truth.
“I know what I can do,” said Madrimov. “I know that this war is important for me, my family, my history and the whole country. I have the whole country [Uzbekistan] on my back supporting me. I'm definitely going out there to do my best to get the win. My thoughts are only good thoughts. I know what I know.
“Everybody is talking about this fight, and everybody is looking forward to the fight on August 3,” Madrimov said of his country, looking forward to seeing him face Crawford.
