Liverpool are losing patience with Luiz Diaz
Barcelona can now start planning for next season after Xavi Hernandez was confirmed to stay on as coach in 2024/25.
This decision seems to be very reasonable for this team as it allows to continue when the team needs it the most.
Given that the Catalan giants have been unable to find any silverware during the current campaign, there should be a change of players in certain positions.
Another area where they have struggled is on the left side. For what it's worth, they have a full-back in Alejandro Balde, but Barca need someone to mirror Lamine Yamal at the other end.
Barcelona are eyeing Liverpool's Luis Diaz
According to Mundo Deportivo, the club have several names in mind, including Liverpool's Luis Diaz, who the Reds are said to be impatient with.
It is not yet clear whether the Colombian has a future with the Anfield outfit, but with Arne Slot soon to be confirmed as Jurgen Klopp's successor, Diaz could still be given the go-ahead.
It would make sense for Slot to wipe the slate clean with all of their new players, and give them a chance to impress during the early pre-season. Those who do not present the right opinion can be deported.
If Diaz wasn't Xavi's man, Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli or Athletic Club's Nico Williams would appear as other important targets.
What is clear is that Ansu Fati, who would represent this role, has no future at the club. That much was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.
“Barcelona may be open to allowing Ansu Fati to leave again this summer, and this is expected from the club's side,” he told CaughtOffside in his exclusive Daily Briefing.
“We will see if it will be another loan, a permanent move, if Brighton will come back and look for Ansu or not… but at the moment it is too early to be absolutely sure.
“Fati's future remains open.”
