The USWNT has won the most gold medals ever in women's soccer, and they are looking to add another this summer at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Historically, the US Men's National Team has struggled to qualify for the Olympics while the US Women's National Team has dominated the competition, dating back to the first women's Olympic soccer tournament in 1996. The USWNT's most famous players, including Mia Hamm, Abby Wambach, and Carli Lloyd, all have Olympic medals in their trophy cabinets.
Now, the next generation of American soccer players will compete in France at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The pressure is on Emma Hayes' team to live up to the United States' legacy at the tournament. After all, the USWNT has won the tournament four more times than any other nation.

The USWNT has won four Olympic gold medals, the most of any country. The Stars and Stripes achieved major success in 1996, 2004, 2008, and 2012.
Even if the Stars and Stripes fail to take gold, they almost always get a spot on the podium. The USWNT took home a silver medal in 2000 after falling to Norway, and a bronze medal in 2020 after losing to Canada in the semifinals.
In fact, the only time the USA did not medal in women's soccer at the Olympics was in 2016. Coming off a historic three-medal streak at the tournament, the USWNT lost to Sweden in the quarter-finals, ending its dream of winning four gold medals in a row.
If the USWNT is able to win gold this summer in the French capital, it will extend the USA's gold medal streak beyond all other countries, including Norway, Germany, and Canada, who all have one gold medal.
The USWNT begins its 2024 Paris Olympics campaign against Zambia on July 25 at 3 pm ET.
