Man Utd set £50m price tag as £250k-p/w big-name player now agrees to leave

Manchester United could now be set for a surprise move this summer, if recent reports from France are anything to go by.

The Red Devils are hoping for better

After a tricky 2023/24 Premier League campaign was saved by an FA Cup victory over Manchester City, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag will be hoping for the best for his team this time around.

Manchester United are eyeing a new acquisition at right back.

They have already added two new faces in the form of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, with the duo arriving from Bologna and Lille respectively for over £85m. Much remains to be done, with a new right-back, another defender and a defensive midfielder all thought to be on the Red Devils' wish-list before the transfer window closes in a month's time.

It is also possible that most of the players will leave following the news that almost everyone will be sold this summer for a fair price. That could see a surprising departure.

Man Utd's top earner agrees to terms to leave

This comes amid reports that Jadon Sancho has agreed personal terms over a move to French giants PSG this summer. Although he was loaned out for the second half of last season following a falling out with Ten Hag, the pair were thought to have mended their relationship ahead of the new season, when Sancho started the pre-season friendly against Arsenal.

Ten Hag himself expressed his hope that Sancho would be able to stay and contribute: “We spoke well, everyone can make a mistake, if a player shows this well, he draws a line and continues.

“This club needs good players, and one thing is certain: Jadon Sancho is a great player. I hope we will click again and he will contribute to our success.”

But now, in a twist, it looks like a move could once again be on the cards for the 24-year-old amid renewed interest from PSG.

According to Sports Zone, there is an “agreement in principle” between the player and PSG to move to the Parc des Princes. Although it is added that the winner is not a priority, he may soon issue an order if Nico Williams chooses not to go to Paris.

It was added that Manchester United would want more than £50m for him to leave, with Sancho having two years left to run on his £250,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford, a figure that makes him one of the club's top earners.

Jadon Sancho

With United already awash in wide areas and Sancho yet to really impress at the club, a sale could prove a tempting option for the club if a reasonable offer is made as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to reduce the wage bill.
