TITLEIST INTRODUCES NEW GT & FAIRWAY WOODS DRIVERS – Golf News

After enjoying impressive results on the international tour over the past few months, Titleist has revealed details of its new range of GT drivers and fairway woods, available for custom orders from today (August 1) and will be available in stores from August 23 . .

Titleist says its three GT drivers – GT2, GT3 and GT4 – are 'faster, longer, straighter and more forgiving' than any driver it has produced before.

Designed to offer different performance characteristics to suit different shooting preferences, i GT2 is a 460cc driver designed for speed and forgiveness on all surfaces with a high MOI setting. I GT3 is a 460cc pilot designed for fine-tuned speed and control, to increase range and improve flight, while GT4 it's a low-spin, 430cc driver designed to eliminate excess rotation and deliver a quick, penetrating turn.

Speaking about the new range, Stephanie Luttrell, Director of Titleist Metalwood Product Development, said: “The GT line represents a leap forward in Titleist driver design and engineering.

“The progress we have made in construction, molding and design was not possible in previous generations. All the advancements found in the GT work in concert to create the best-performing driver we've ever made.”

Chuck Golden, Senior Vice President of Titleist Club Research & Development, added: “One of our original goals with the GT was to make it faster than the TSR, and the only way to achieve our design goals was to break away from all-titanium construction. . The density of this crown is almost three times lighter than what we had in the all-titanium design.

“By wrapping the crown down on one, we increase the distribution of mass throughout the head, which allows us to have significant advantages in designing our center of gravity and inertia.”

SEAMLESS THERMOFORM COAT
Each model in the GT range features an ultra-lightweight crown made from a new Proprietary Matrix Polymer. The material, which has never been used in the design of a golf clubhead, has given Titleist engineers unprecedented design solutions in terms of internal weight positioning, which unlocks benefits in many aspects of the driver's performance. The fastest face of the GT has two main technologies behind it. Both the GT2 and GT3 fairway metal irons feature new construction, starting with their Seamless Thermoform crown, made from Titleist's Proprietary Matrix Polymer. Like the GT driver's line, the ultra-light crown on the GT2 and GT3 fairways allows for optional weight redistribution, resulting in an improved center of gravity for each model. The result is a higher flight with the same or lower spin and faster speed in both models. GT2 FAIRWAY

GT2 drivers made their debut on the PGA Tour in June at the Memorial Tournament, with 13 players fielding one of the new models immediately.
