Last week PXG announced their new line of irons and wedges where they unveiled the 0311P and 0311XP Gen7 irons, the Black Ops irons and the Sugar Daddy III wedges. This early announcement provided a first look at the clubs and traditionally provided valuable access to members of their PXG hero program.

Now that the new PXG irons and wedges are out in the wild, we're here to provide you with all the technical details of these clubs that push them to the USGA limit and give golfers more forgiveness, speed and feel.

0311P & XP Gen7 instruments

The new 0311P and XP Gen7 range irons continue the distinctive look and aggressive style of the PXG irons, but just as the styling has improved, there are more improvements that have taken place inside these irons to push them. right at the USGA limit.

Inside the new 0311 Gen7 irons is PXG's newest polymer system to date – QuantumCOR, which is the result of a continuous push by PXG engineers to find a material that delivers speed and rebounding power without sacrificing PXG's soft signature feel.

This new QuantumCOR material and ultra thin face construction created the greatest single ball speed and distance jump from one generation to the next in PXG history.

Another outstanding new design feature of the 0311P and 0311XP Gen7 instruments is the titanium ring around the signature center weight used to adjust swing weight and feel. Replacing the heavy metal housing with a lightweight and high-strength titanium one saves about 5 grams that can be redistributed inside the head to increase forgiveness.

Add 20 grams of dense tungsten laid down and in the toe of the iron and you get PXG's most stable line of 0311 irons to date.

Black Ops Tools

The new Black Ops irons are unique to the PXG lineup in that they are an independent game development offering designed to compete in a competitive game development market. In addition to being long and forgiving, the Black Ops irons are designed with a high focus on providing golfers with a softer feel compared to other options in the category.

As for technology, the two hole design iron is filled with PXG's XCOR2 material to save weight while the wider sole and topline provide more stability laterally and up the face to stabilize ball speed and spin. Sugar Daddy III makes wedges

The Sugar Daddy III forged wedges mark the biggest change to PXG's wedge line since its introduction, with the biggest change coming in the form of a new shape at address, and new milling options to help fit more golfers.

But, before we get to the milling and shaping, we can't talk about wedges without discussing grooves, and PXG (which already has some of the highest quality wedges we've tested in GOLF) has also improved on its spinning configuration. to create a solid space and add a 16th channel.

This additional groove helps produce consistent launch angles and spin rates and better results in wet conditions.

Now to the molding and milling options.

Part of the new shape and geometric style of the Sugar Daddy III wedges increases the MOI on the head by pulling the weight from the back holes and is placed higher on the head with the help of a high variable train. The upper thickness of the upper line is joined to the back of the head with a sharp bevel so at address the extra thickness is hidden.
