Boxing Results: Angelo Leo Knocks Out Venado Lopez!

At Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, NM, in the main event, IBF World Featherweight champion Luis Lopez, 30-3 (17 KOs), weighing 125.6 lbs, from Mexicali, Baja CA, MEX, was knocked out by WBA champion Continental North American. Angelo Leo, 25-1 (12 KOs), weighing 125.6 lbs, of Las Vegas, NV, at 1:15 of the 10th round of a scheduled 12-round fight

The first two rounds were a slugfest with Leo having a slight edge. In the third and fourth rounds they both had their moments where Leo had the edge.

From the fifth to the eighth round Lopez had a slight edge in the fight.

In the tenth round a left hook from Leo to the chin and down and Lopez out for the count.

In the Co-Main Event 2015 Olympian Lindolfo Delgado, 21-0 (15), #139.9, of Linares, MEX, won a split decision fight against IBF USBA Super Light champion Bryan 'Nino Maravilla' Flores, 26-1- 1 (15), #139.9, of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, MEX, after 10 rounds.

In the third round, a right side of Delgado's head dropped Flores to his knee with an 8 count by referee Robert Velez. In the fourth round Flores came back well landing a left hook on the chin of Delgado in the last minute.

In the fifth round Delgado worked Flores for most of the time in a close round. In the sixth round both boxers had their situations. When Flores is injured he comes back strong and sometimes takes a round. In the seventh round after the referee's second warning, Velez took a point from Flores with a punch that hit Delgado's elbow until it reached below the belt line. Delgado landed a left uppercut to the chin of Flores in the final seconds of the round.

In the eighth round, Flores rocked Delgado with a left to the chin that caused him to hold on for a moment. The ninth round was rock n' sock for both with Flores getting the upper hand.

In the tenth and final round a minute later Flores rocked Delgado with a left to the chin. At the end of the rounds in the final seconds both landed heavy blows to the chin as Flores seemed to pull it out.

NABA Fly Champion Matthew 'Diamond Boy' Griego, 15-0 (10), #112, of Albuquerque, NM, defeated Gilberto Mendoza, 23-19-4 (11), #110 ¾, of Modesto, CA, over 8 rounds.

In the first three rounds, both boxers faced Griego 2-1. In the fourth round, Mendoza keeps coming forward with counter punching from Griego.

In the fifth to seventh rounds, Griego was lucky against Mendoza. In the eighth and final round Griego hurt Mendoza in the middle with left hooks to the chin.

The referee is Rocky Burke. Total score is 80-72.

WBA Continental Americas and WBC USA Super Welter champion Vito 'White Majic' Mielnicki, Jr., 19-1 (13), #154, of Roseland, NJ, was stopped by DQ Laszlo Toth, 32-9- 2 (20), # 153 ¼, from Sopron, HUN, at 1:39 of the second round ruled by DQ due to Toth's corner entering the ring 10.

In the first round Mielnicki landed several left hooks to the chin of Toth. In the final seconds a left hook to Toth's chin hurt. In the second round, Mielnicki landed a strong hook on the chin, knocking Toth down by 8 counts from referee Wes Melton. As Toth stood up on shaky legs, his corner called a halt.

Super Fly Steven 'Kid Dynamite' Navarro, 3-0 (2), #116 ½, of LA, CA, stopped Israel Camacho, 2-12 (0), #115 ½, of MEX and -Houston, TX, at 2:14 in the first 6.

In the first round a left to the body from Navarro and the ground went for an 8 count. With one minute left, a body right from Navarro and Camacho goes down again in referee Robert Velez's field.

Light Alan 'Kid Kansas' Garcia, 14-0 (11), #136 ¼, of Ulysses, KS, stopped Southpaw Maickol 'El Coyote' Lopez Villagrana, 16-5 (8), #136 ¼, from Mexico City, MEX , Miami, FL, at 2:34 of the third of 8.

In the second round Garcia dropped Villagrana with a right uppercut to the chin for an 8 count. In the third round, a right from Garcia's head and down came Villagrana with 8 counts by referee Ernie Shaif, as Villagrana's corner stopped.

Feather Albert 'Chop Chop' Gonzalez, 10-0 (6), #126 ¼, of Perris, CA, stopped Damian 'El Duro' Alcala, 8-5 (2), #127, of Tijuana, MEX, Chula Vista, CA, at 2:51 in the third of 6.

In the first round Gonzalez landed a left hook to the chin that knocked out Alcala. In the second round Alcala came back well although they did not win the round. In the third round Gonzalez dropped Alcala with a right to the chin for 8 counts by referee Rocky Burke. Seconds later Gonzalez again dropped Alcala with a right to the chin forcing referee Burke to stop.

Feather Arnold 'Ami' Khegai, 22-1-1 (14), #125 ¾, of Odessa, UKR, LA, CA, stopped Belmar 'Big Boy' Preciado, 22-8-1 (15) , #126, of Ibague, COL, LA, CA, after 8 of 10 rounds.

In the first two rounds Khegai had a slight edge working Predciado. In the third round Khegai rocked Predciado with a left hook to the chin midway through the round.

In the fifth round, Khegai injured Predciado in the corner and was punched by the referee Robert M who warned him to fight or he will stop it. In the eighth round Khegai dominated Predciado. His corner stopped between rounds.
