Golf Business News – Scottish Golf supports Solarsport in promoting sun safety among golfers

Solarsport, the new name in skin care and sun protection, is fully supported by Scottish Golf, the governing body of golf in Scotland, to promote sun safety among its 207,000 members.

With research from the Melanoma Research Foundation finding that extended sun exposure from outdoor activities increases the risk of melanoma by 28%, the partnership aims to raise awareness of the importance of sun protection for golfers at the Home of Golf.

To highlight this issue, Solarsport is offering an exclusive 20% discount to all Golf Scotland members during the competition when they use the code SG20.

Designed specifically for golfers, Solarsport SPF30 Sunscreen provides maximum UV protection in a non-slip, sweat-proof formula. Its quick-drying mist ensures an instant firm grip on golf clubs, and the 50ml bottle fits easily into golf bags or hand luggage.

“At Scottish Golf, we believe it is important that all golfers use sunscreen when out on the course to protect themselves from the sun,” said Robbie Clyde, CEO of Scottish Golf. “Our team had the opportunity to test the Solarsport and were impressed with how it performed on the course.”

Solarsport's SPF30 formula blocks approximately 97% of UVB rays from reaching your skin, reducing the risk of sunburn and skin damage. Unlike conventional sunscreens, Solarsport is non-slip, non-greasy, and specially formulated to dry quickly, ensuring golfers are ready to play quickly.

Tony Wood, director of Solarsport, said: “We are delighted that Scottish Golf is here to promote sun safety for golfers. Golfers spend many hours outdoors, and it is important to protect their skin from harmful UV rays.

“Our SPF30 sunscreen is designed to meet the needs of athletes, providing non-slip, sweat-resistant protection that doesn't compromise performance. The endorsement of Scottish Golf means a lot to us, and we are delighted to offer their members a special discount to ensure they are always protected on the course.”
