Leon Draisaitl can get $13.5 million for eight times, Evan Bouchard around $10 million
Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: It's unlikely that when Leon Draisaitl signs a long-term contract extension that doesn't start with at least 13. It could take an eight-year deal with a salary cap of $13.5 million. If Oilers owner Daryl Katz wants to make a deal, this is where it will be done.
Defenseman Evan Bouchard will also need an extension that could begin the 2025-26 season. An eight-year deal could come in at around $10 million. The 2025-26 salary cap could be $93 million, up $5 million from this season.

It's possible that the Oilers and/or Draisaitl will want to leave in less than eight years. Edmonton is his best shot right now at winning the Stanley Cup, so there's no need to talk about him going to free agency and playing elsewhere.
Oilers RFA forward Dylan Holloway and defenseman Philip Broberg are likely to sign two-year bridge deals worth $2.2-$2.3 million.
The Vancouver Canucks will be looking for third-line centers, with Brock Boeser entering the final year of his contract.

Boeser's camp may be looking at JT Miller's seven-year, $8 million deal. He is two years younger than when Miller signed the contract.
The Daily Faceoff analyzed offensive players entering their 30s and placed Boeser in a group with Tyler Toffoli, Mats Zucarello, Alex Radulov, Paul Stastny, John Tavares, Artemi Panarin and Zach Hyman.
Players who earned $7 million include Troy Terry (ANA), Matt Boldy (MIN), Anders Lee (NYI) and Gabriel Landeskog (COL). The next three over $7 million are Kyle Connor (WPG), Clayton Keller (UTH), and Jason Robertson (DAL).
