It is only a matter of time until the Red Devils confirm the signing of Bayern Munich pair Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, with the defensive duo in the process of completing their move away from the Bundesliga giants. It's been a promising summer at Old Trafford, with Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee among those yet to move in, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe's spending spree could be done there.

Another recent report claims United are considering a move for Brighton's top-flight young striker Evan Ferguson in a move worth around £50m. The Republic of Ireland international is only 19-years-old, but has been tipped to become a champion over time.

Fenerbahce and Turkey defender Ferdi Kadioglu has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer, having attracted attention for his country at Euro 2024. He also averaged 3.6 tackles and two clearances per game in the competition, making him the best. Popular in the process, and he could be considered a long-term replacement for the injury-prone Luke Shaw.

A move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong also does not appear to be out of the question, although United have failed in their attempts to sign him so far, costing far less than the Catalan giants are willing to accept his services.

Man Utd to submit bid for “spectacular” player.

According to a new report emerging Football InsiderManchester United have now “reopened talks” to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer window, as they look to snap him up along with De Ligt.

The Red Devils boss are set to table a new bid of £60m this week and believe the offer will be accepted by the Blues, despite their previous attempts failing.

Jarrad-Branthwaite-England

The signings of Branthwaite along with De Ligt and Yoro would represent an excellent summer to spend at the heart of Erik ten Hag's defence, as they look to make a major breakthrough in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise at Everton over the past 12 months or so, and looks set to become a regular starter for England for years to come.

Branthwaite's quality has not gone unnoticed by Premier League legend Alan Shearer, who has hailed him as “good”, and Jamie Carragher has also praised him: “Branthwaite was outstanding. I think this guy is very special. He is a big part of why Everton in my eyes have a good chance to stay, him and his partnership. [James] in Tarkowski.”

His finish was described as “amazing”.

It would be surprising to see Branthwaite come in now, given the amount of money United have spent on new defenders this summer, but few fans will be against his signing, given his long-term promise.
