Sweden enjoyed a sweep of the R&A Boys' and Girls' Amateur championships behind Viggo Olsson Mörk and Havanna Torstensson and achieved memorable back-to-back final victories over Yorkshire's top two teams.
Olsson Mörk came back from five down after 12 holes to beat Scott Woltering of the Netherlands 4&3 in their tournament at Moortown, while 16-year-old Torstensson won 8&7 over Poland's Matylda Krawczynska to win the 95th stage of The Girls'. Amateur at Alwoodley.
Amateur for boys
In a topsy-turvy morning session, Woltering moved into a four-up lead after just seven holes. The Dutchman then made key putts from 15 feet and five feet to split 10 and 11, then pressed home to take advantage when he holed his second shot on the par-5 12th.th in the wonderful eagle.
Olsson Mörk refused to bend and responded with a birdie win at 13 and soon claimed three holes in a row after costly errors from Woltering at 14 and 15 to reduce his deficit to two.
A roar of joy put the Dutchman back three in front after a nine-foot birdie putt on 16, but he two-shotted into the greenside bunker on the short 17th and pulled his drive on 18 to take a penalty and lose both holes. .
Woltering birdied 19, but a run of three bogeys allowed his opponent to take the lead for the first time in 22. Woltering responded quickly after a superb birdie putt for the next winner, but he was one more when Olsson Mörk birdied the par-5 25th. He then adjudged his own putt on the 28th for a bogey and a two-hole deficit. As the Swede continued his steady play, Woltering bogeyed the 31st to fall to three under and another bogey on 33 ended the contest.
Olsson Mörk said: “I can't believe this. I never thought I was out of it, but I felt a long way after Scott holed his eagle on 12. I had lost count of how many holes I was behind. He then smashed a driver down 13, and it wasn't very good.
“But I just tried to believe and know that there are many holes left to play. I do my best to try to fight back and not give up. It turned out to be very good.”

Girls Amateur
Havanna Torstensson got an early lead in her match against Matylda Krawczynska with a six-foot birdie putt on the 3rd hole of the morning's opening round and, from then on, was in complete control.
Krawczynska, Poland's three-time junior champion, struggled to replicate the form that took her to the final, with Torstensson's assured performance cementing her dominant position and going six to 11 holes.
Krawczynska couldn't get up in the draw, but the 18-year-old birdied the 15th for a birdie.
The Pole then closed another hole back on the 17th when Torstensson hit his second shot into the trees but the Swede clawed his way back to a five-hole lead on the 18th.
After winning two afternoon holes to extend his lead to seven, Torstensson was in control and Krawczynska's day would come on the 28th.th hole when he slowed the shot over the green and lost his ball. His concession there meant that Torstensson was in seven sets with only eight to play and the win was sealed at 29 short.th when Krawczynska's par putt went out of the mouth and Torstensson rounded out the three to win the title.
The winner said: “It feels amazing. I don't really believe it, but I'm very happy. I played solid golf. I didn't make too many mistakes and I played the par-5 very well. It's the biggest win of my life and I'm looking forward to playing again next year.
Torstensson becomes just the third Swede, after Anna Nordqvist and Maria Hjorth, to win the Girls' Amateur.
