Madrid striker 'wants £47m in unpaid PSG wages'

Kylian Mbappe is demanding £47 million from former club Paris St-Germain in wages and bonuses and has taken the dispute to Uefa, according to a report.

France captain Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid in June after his PSG contract expired, is owed all of the money in the final three months of his deal with the reigning French champions and part of the signing bonus he expected to receive in February, Le Monde has claimed. said.

The newspaper reported that Mbappe first filed his complaint with the legal committee of the French Professional Football League (LFP), citing article 259 of the French football code, which states that wages must be paid to contracted players on the last day of each month.

Paris' all-time top scorer of 256 goals is now said to have lodged a complaint with European football's governing body.

Kylian Mbappe: PSG 'hope'

The 25-year-old's mother, Fayza Lamari, said last month that Mbappe “yes” will agree to take PSG to court over the money he allegedly wants “if we have no other option”.

“I really hope that the contract we signed two years ago will be respected,” Lamari told Le Parisien, via Diario AS. “Let's not say what Kylian said or didn't say, did this or didn't do that… in fact, no one can say what happened – me or the representatives of PSG.

“Two years, Kylian no [club] the president [Nasser Al-Khelaifi] he always met alone, outside once. And all that hasn't stopped Kylian from playing since the announcement [made by Mbappe to PSG of his departure] done in february.

“Now it is in the hands of Kylian's representatives, but I hope that PSG will return things to normal soon. We have just received a letter… decisions will be taken.”

Lamari likened Mbappe's exit after seven years at the club to a divorce. “Sometimes, when you break up, you have to decide who will get the TV, who will get the furniture or the car,” she said.

“That's where we are. I hope that all this is not all we have been through, let's not leave it like this. As in couples, too, everything is never perfect. There are ups and downs. But in six months, things will be better.”

Mbappe Madrid record

Mbappe scored Madrid's second goal in a 2-0 Super Cup win over Italian rivals Atalanta on his debut in Warsaw on August 14.

He played in the 1-1 draw at Mallorca in their La Liga opener two days ago and is likely to start again when they host Valladolid in the league on Sunday (4pm BST).
