Timberwolves Legend Responds To Anthony Edwards' Viral Comments

Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has ruffled a few feathers with his latest take on Michael Jordan and former Minnesota star Kevin Garnett has weighed in.

In case you missed it, here's what Edward had to say:

“I didn't watch it during the day so I can't talk about it,” Edwards said The Wall Street Journal. “They say at that time it was more difficult than now, but I don't think anyone was capable at that time. (Michael Jordan) was the only one who was really good, you know what I mean? That's why when they see Kobe (Bryant), they say, 'Oh, my God.' But now everyone has talent.”

In response to Edwards' comments, Garnett somewhat disagreed and explained how today's style of play would not have worked back then.

“Honestly, man, I don't think anybody in this generation could have played 20 years ago,” Garnett said. Ticket and Truth. “Twenty years ago, bro, you couldn't go back three times. Do you hear what I'm saying to you? You couldn't go back three times. And then if you shot that s**t, it should have gone in. Do you know why? Because we were working well, long ago, my love, and it was very difficult. It was very difficult, and guess what? The league had to come out of it in order to continue to go forward to increase the goals, that's why we like to sit here and watch the kind of rat race in this high-speed game right now.”

Before Garnett could explode, Lakers legend Magic Johnson grilled Edwards to take it.

“I've never answered a guy who hasn't won a championship,” Johnson said. “He didn't win a college championship, I don't know if he won a high school championship.”
