Toney, Nketiah, Broja – Latest Deadline Day Deals You May Have Missed

There was still plenty going on in the transfer market after Friday's 11pm deadline as several Premier League clubs submitted their deal papers to extend their transfer window.

Raheem Sterling has joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea, while Jadon Sancho will move from Manchester United to the Blues.

Victor Osimhen ended up staying at Napoli despite being linked with London and the Red Devils got a deal with Manuel Ugarte over the line.

Read on for some great deals you may have missed.

Toney to Al-Ahli

Despite links to Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United, Ivan Toney ended up switching to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ahli signed the England striker from Brentford in a £40million deal, just days after he was left out of the Three Lions squad for the Nations League.

He was described as a Brentford legend by Thomas Frank, who had nothing but good words to say about the 28-year-old.

He said: “It has been a pleasure working with Ivan for the past four years.

“On the field, he was an amazing goal scorer, a player who connects the players and the leader. He pushed the team, the squad and himself. Ivan is walking like a Brentford legend.”

Nketiah went to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace completed the first of two big deals for themselves on deadline day, bringing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah to South London.

The 25-year-old has repaid the Eagles £30million and signed a five-year contract with the club.

Born in this area, Nketiah is finally determined to get regular minutes after playing as a backup for the Gunners.

He said: “It's amazing to sign for Crystal Palace – I'm delighted to be moving on.”

“Every time I go back to South London, it always puts a smile on my face, so it's good to be back home.”

The deal also allowed Odsonne Edouard to join Leicester on loan.

Broja to Everton

Unwanted Chelsea striker Armando Broja looked set to head to Ipswich, but a deal fell through on Friday.

News soon emerged that Everton had sent the Albanian forward's late contract papers and they managed to get everything in time.

The 22-year-old has joined the Toffees on loan, and has an option to buy.

Director of football Kevin Thelwell said: “Having followed Armando's journey for many years, we are delighted to have been able to bring him to the club.

“Armando is still a young player who has built up a good experience but we feel that he has a great opportunity to open up.”

Nelson at Fulham

Another failed deal for Ipswich came on Deadline Day when Reiss Nelson joined Fulham as a replacement for the Tractor Boys.

The 24-year-old joined the Cottagers on a direct loan from Arsenal, hoping to get some more playing time away from the Emirates.

Nelson joins former Gunner Emile Smith-Rowe at Craven Cottage having enjoyed previous loan spells at Feyenoord and Hoffenheim.

With 90 first-team appearances under his belt with the Gunners, he could be a good player for Fulham.

Chalobah goes to Crystal Palace

Trevoh Chalobah joins Nketiah in South London for the 2024-25 season.

The Chelsea defender arrived at Selhurst Park on a season-long loan deal, having made 80 appearances for the Blues.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining a club as ambitious as Crystal Palace.

“I know the lads in the squad very well and I'm looking forward to playing with them in front of the fantastic support at Selhurst Park.”

Ward-Prowse to Nottingham Forest

Julen Lopetegui has continued his brutal lifestyle at West Ham by sending James Ward-Prowse away from the club.

The former Southampton midfielder has joined Nottingham Forest on loan – although there is no option for the Tricky Trees to buy him.

Ward-Prowse said: “I'm delighted to be here.

“When I knew I had the opportunity to join the club and come to show what I can do, I thought it was a good opportunity.

“I've played Nottingham Forest a few times, the atmosphere here is one of the best I've played in the Premier League, so hopefully hearing that week in, week out is something very special.”

Alongside Ward-Prowse, Forest have added Benfica defender Morato from Benfica.

The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract for a fee of around £12.3million.
