This is the secret to managing a tricky lie in the basement

Managing tricky bunker lies, even those on marks and footprints, is difficult for many rec players.
My simple advice is to get uncomfortably close to the ball. It's a funny lie, snuggle. Then swing the club directly into your backswing, which will increase your ability to create a swing when coming back down to the ball.
Stepness is your best way out of most false situations. After you create this rise, your goal is for the club to enter the sand a few inches behind the ball. That is serious.
Your following? Not much – you don't need to do too much with your swing after the ball has landed. Turn the clubface at address to match how much of the green you have to work with. Less green, more loft.
It's that simple.
