Hersch: “Older players, there are players in the league where we see 18, 19, 20 year olds lighting it up every night. And so you have these guys who seem like they're going to be a surefire sign of an NHL team, and they haven't been. Does anyone on the list think they should get a contract somewhere?”
Yes, I think it is Aunt Raanta. The coaching position is always kind of that really suspect area where, honestly, you can identify eight to 10 clubs every year that have concerns about a backup that can't be serviced. And this is what Aunt Raanta has established during her career.
He has been a part of many different organizations. He provided a really solid service. Would you believe that during his 11 years, across, I think, five or six different teams, he only had one losing season.
Last year with the Carolina Hurricanes, he was 19, sorry, that was two years ago, 19-3-3. Last year, 12-7-2. Also, in a limited role, but Antti Raata in his career, has shown that he is a really reliable second, sometimes third in Carolina.
