Golf Business News – The Belfry is preparing to open a new event venue
Construction of a new events venue at The Belfry Hotel & Resort in the West Midlands is progressing ahead of schedule and is expected to open later this month.
The project, which is part of an £80m development, will create over 200 jobs and includes the property's largest events space, the 852sqm Masters Suite.
It will enhance The Belfry's existing 23 event spaces, which serve a range of corporate and international markets.
The new suite will have a pre-work area, a mezzanine, an upstairs boardroom, and an outdoor terrace with views of the Brabazon golf course.
The development also includes a new Leisure Club, with a family-friendly swimming pool, lap pool, hot tubs, and cafe.
Four glass-fronted studios, a gym, and a separate sports area will round out the recreational facilities.
Chris Semones, managing director of resort owner Goldman Sachs, said: “The Belfry has a well-deserved reputation for excellence, and we have seen first-hand its capacity for innovation and growth, and its drive to become the UK's leading leisure and events destination.
“As owners, our investment only reinforces that. We look forward to taking this popular institution from strength to strength in the coming years, cementing its place at the heart of community events, and continuing to invest in its people, its potential and its future. “
Chris Eigelaar, leisure director at The Belfry, said: “Ensuring that our valued guests have an experience like no other is what drives us. It is very encouraging to see the Resort grow and I have no doubt that this exciting development will enhance the Belfry brand and its reputation as the UK's premier entertainment and events venue.”
