Hall-of-Famer Reveals Pat Riley's True Feelings for Jimmy Butler

Hall-of-Famer Reveals Pat Riley's True Feelings for Jimmy Butler

NBA Hall of Famer and former Heat guard Tim Hardaway Sr. made the claim that Miami president Pat Riley is “tired” of star player Jimmy Butler.

The 35-year-old Butler is entering the final year of his contract with the Heat and there have been rumors about Miami parting ways with Jimmy.

At the end of last season, Riley refused to acknowledge whether or not the team would give Butler an extension.

He also finished the season with a fiery temper and Hardaway was not surprised.

“I've been waiting for that,” Hardaway said All Smoke. “I knew something was going to happen. I told some people, I said, 'Pat gon talk this year,' especially you know he's tired of a lot of things going on in the team. Jimmy Butler is tired. …Besides, if Jimmy didn't say anything about the other teams when you weren't playing, that would be fine, but if you came out and said that, yeah, you're probably talking about both. [Butler and Tyler Herro]but I think he is really talking [to Butler] directly.”

Hardaway then continued to think about what Riley was thinking.

“'Man, you haven't played a lot of games this year or last year, especially in the playoffs,'” Hardaway continued. “I need you to play in the final. If you play more than 70 games, we won't be in the playoffs for two years in a row. I need you to play. You need to take care of your body. You need to be in the gym taking care of your body – not the gym – but the weight room taking care of your body to understand. I was waiting for that. We all understood – all the Miami Heat people – understood where Pat Riley was coming from, and you see they didn't. They will wait. They took the path of Jerry Jones. “
