Calgary Flames: Out of practice yesterday were Jake Bean (lower body), Matt Coronato (lower body), Martin Pospisil (lower body), and MacKenzie Weegar (maintenance day).

LA Kings PR: Los Angeles Kings guard Drew Doughty is listed as month-to-month as he requires surgery to repair a broken ankle.

  • Frank Seravalli: Sources say Doughty's surgery will also involve tone correction. A timeline has not been set but the average is 10-14 weeks.

Mike Morreale: New Jersey Devils defenseman Brett Pesce participated in their pregame skate yesterday but is not yet close to the game according to coach Sheldon Keefe.

“He's not close to playing yet, but it was encouraging to put him on the ice with a lot of people,” said New Jersey coach Sheldon Keefe. “He's been skating by himself a lot of the time, with one or two other guys injured, but it's good to have him in the team. He has a lot of energy about him so just having him around the boys … they enjoyed it. I'm sure he's very happy to get out there and it's good to see him, but it's just a small step in his plan.”

Erik Haula entered the lineup last night, the first preseason game. He was sick.
