TGL presented by SoFi, the new technology-enabled golf league, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TMRW Sports in association with the PGA Tour, has announced its first schedule for the season, which will begin on January 7.
The schedule includes 15 regular season games, then a four-team semifinal, before culminating in the top two teams competing to win the SoFi Cup in a best-of-three Final Series on March 24 and March 25.
All games will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+ in the US.
Mike McCarley, CEO and founder of TMRW Sports. said: “TGL presented by SoFi will bring together teams of world-class PGA TOUR stars and powerhouse fans familiar with other team sports – a live, on-court golf experience on a scale never seen before.
“The six TGL teams will go head-to-head in a competitive season from January to March, bringing the team golf for the first time on a consistent basis.”
“Our season will complement the PGA TOUR's FedExCup Season with a fast-paced team tournament that aims to appeal to a wide variety of sports fans with features such as the shot clock, familiar to fans of other sports. TGL's two-hour matches are perfect for prime-time TV and will help bring more fans closer to golf's biggest names.”
