The golf club is changing after Xander Schauffele's ascension

Xander Schauffele is busy at the ZOZO Championship in Japan this week and the club's supplier Callaway Golf has revealed some amazing stats after his season so far.

Schauffele is first in consecutive cuts with a 55, which is more than the total for putting on the charts and also leads the way with a Par 3 rating.

He entered this week's event at Accordia Golf Narashino CC in Japan as World No. 2 and once again basked in the afterglow of a 2024 campaign that saw two major victories: the PGA Championship and The Open.

The biggest change for 2024 was the introduction of a new design for the Apex TCB instruments that they have used since 2011. They incorporate new weight on the club face to provide a lower center of gravity and a shorter blade length.

Callaway released the same irons as a limited edition launch this month to celebrate the impact he had on Schauffele's game. You can buy the limited edition irons here.

It says: “Since Xander Schauffele has put on the TCB irons, his strokes gained from his approach have increased significantly each year. Now in 2024, he's in the top 5 in the world in championships won, and has won two major championships with the new '24 TCB Iron.

And in his bag sits the £569 Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Driver.

The driver is one of four in the Paradym Ai lineup and is a favorite among low handicappers. It offers more distance and more performance off the tee thanks to its medium bias face designed using data from professional players including Schauffele.

The Californian also likes the Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Fairway Wood, which is perfect for those with high swing speeds.

Schauffele uses one of the most popular balls on tour and its main competitor the Titleist V1. Schauffele has already praised the Chrome Tour X for its stable flight and spin.

Earlier this month he said: “The new golf ball was amazing. It checks all the boxes for me. It has a very stable flight from the top. Maintains spin well on short shots. Good spin and feel close to the green.

“Perhaps the most impressive thing about football is its stability in the air. It can be tricky to find a ball that performs well with every club in the bag, but that's exactly what the Chrome Tour does.”
