Rules of golf: A wonderful way to get a free swing when the ball is stuck in the tree

Hitting a gun in the trees is frustrating enough.
Finding your ball stuck in a tree trunk and preventing you from hitting any kind of shot is even worse.
But here's a lesson in keeping your wits about you and using the rules to your advantage.
In this video the USGA explains how to get free relief.
It requires a few things to go your way, but it's worth keeping in mind.
As the narrator explains: “After the error goes out to the right you find yourself in a difficult position where playing a normal right-handed ball is not correct.
“So you decide to put someone back in play using a left swing.
“And by doing that you are standing in the way of the cart.
“Can you ease yourself out of the way of the carriage?”
It seems too good to be true but guess what?
The answer is: “Yes.”
As the narrator says: “Because using an unusual swing doesn't prevent you from being free as long as the stroke you're trying to hit doesn't make sense.”
“For relief you will find a near perfect relief from a left hand turn.
“In that free time you can take the position of helping with the length of one club to release the ball.
“Here's the best part.
“After completing the process you are free to use the right hand swing.”
It sounds like cheating but it's all part of the rules!
