Q: Hello, Chef! What's a fun draw to practice to build confidence for my next round? —Johnson L., Lexington, Ky
Whenever you want a quick confidence shot around the greens, I suggest going down to a 52-degree or pitching wedge, sitting about two to four yards from the green on the edge. A low loft will help you swing more efficiently and shorter than just holding your lobber.
A good game to play is to take one ball and hit six shots, the goal being to hit all six within eight feet. The better you get at this drill, the smaller you can make your goal. (Shhhhh… Tour players are not looking to make every chip shot, but they want each shot to end up within four feet.).
