Chelsea's Reece James “could be part of the team” for Nottingham Forest

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Chelsea captain Reece James “could be part of the squad” for the Blues' Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The right-back has returned to full training and could get minutes under his belt at the City Ground.

Pochettino confirmed this at a press conference on Friday, with the Chelsea manager saying Fabrizio Romano: “Maybe Reece James can be part of the team for tomorrow's game.”

This season has been good for James as he was given the captain's armband by Pochettino last summer but injuries plagued the English star. The 24-year-old has not played since December 10, when he played 27 minutes against Everton, as he needed surgery following the problem he picked up in that game.

The defender is prone to injuries and will be hoping to avoid another setback ahead of an important season for the English game.

Next season is a big one for Reece James and Chelsea

Chelsea have finished the current campaign and will look to secure European football next season with the remaining three games. The Blues are currently top of the European Conference League but are just two points behind Newcastle in last place in the Europa League.

That would provide another route to next season's Champions League, a campaign that will be crucial for the current squad as the Stamford Bridge board will want to see improvement.

James is expected to improve and if he has another season like this, there are many chances that the Blues will move away from the defender as the fans will have had enough of his unreliability. This would be a shame as this 24-year-old player is very talented and many football fans will want to see him succeed in the upcoming campaign.
