A Solution That Will Stop 'Inside The NBA' From Being Cancelled
The future of 'Inside the NBA' has been in serious jeopardy since the Wall Street Journal first reported that TNT might lose its NBA rights, which expire after next season.
Things took a turn for the worse today when Bill Simmons said on his podcast that NBC has already outbid TNT for the rights, and that the official announcement will be official.
But there may be a way to save 'Inside the NBA', if the parties are willing to make it work. One person who will make this point is NBA agent Nate Jones.
“The alternative is that a new broadcast partner hires Turner to produce Inside the NBA and nothing else so Ernie stays with Atlanta and works out of the studio he's comfortable with and finds the magic of a production team that has been top notch for all of them. these years,” Jones said on Twitter.
It's a strong idea, and one that speaks to the general belief that Ernie Johnson is unlikely to leave TNT to follow Shaq, Charles and Kenny to another network.
good solution here, because:
1) Ernie is extremely loyal to Turner and it would be a shock to see him leave the network. Especially for those who don't have an HQ in Atlanta.
