Football fans predict who will win the FA Cup in a YouGov poll
Football fans have predicted that Manchester City will beat rivals Manchester United in the 2024 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
It's been two years in a row that fans will be watching the Manchester derby in the FA Cup final. Last season's event was won by all-conquering Man City, with the Citizens taking the lead in record time at the end with an Ilkay Gundogan goal, and never looked back – winning 2-1 with another Ilkay Gundogan goal. Their captain at the time was Gundogan.
The FA Cup was one of three major trophies that Pep Guardiola's side won last season, also collecting the Premier League and UEFA Champions League to complete a historic treble.
Despite missing out on another treble this season due to their quarter-final exit at the hands of Real Madrid in the Champions League, City are likely to complete the domestic double in 2023/24. As well as booking a place in the FA Cup final, Guardiola's side are currently top of the Premier League heading into the final weekend of the season.
On the other hand for Manchester, it is fair to say that their city rivals have endured different fortunes in 2023/24.
Man Utd suffered a difficult second season under manager Erik ten Hag, losing 14 Premier League games and facing a Champions League group stage exit.
The Red Devils, however, saved some of their best form for the FA Cup – notably beating Liverpool in the famous quarter-final at Old Trafford.
However, in a survey conducted by YouGov, football fans unanimously predicted that Man City will win this season's FA Cup final on May 25.
94% of the fans polled chose Man City as the team they think will win the trophy, while Man Utd received 6% of the vote.
