CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Jayden Melendez was undefeated against the Miami Hurricanes during his time at FIU, going 29-6 in two games.
On Saturday, Melendez – who now plays for Pittsburgh – hit a three-run homer in a 10-7 win over Miami, vaulting the Panthers into the ACC championship.
Mervyl Melendez, Jayden's father and former FIU coach, was at Saturday's game along with several other family members and friends.
“I think my father (Gamaliel) must have kissed everyone in that section of the stands,” said Mervyl, who used his phone to record the video.[…]
