With new media rights deals expected to exceed $7 billion per season by 2025-26, the NBA is expecting a significant salary increase. Apart from this, the league and the players' association have agreed to a 10% increase per year.
This approach would still see the salary exceed $200 million for the 2028-29 season. As a result, supermax contracts can start at $72 million that season and reach $419 million over five years.
