Hrovic Expects “School” Dubois in Saturday's Heavyweight fight
Filip Hrgovic laid out his winning case at today's final press conference, saying his gains in experience will lead him to victory over Daniel Dubois in their twelve-round heavyweight fight this Saturday, June 1, in Riyadh.
Hrgovic Expects to “School” Dubois at Heavyweight
Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) says he's confident and will take the 26-year-old Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs) to “school” in their '5 vs. 5', live on DAZN PPV at Kingdom Arena.
Much has been made of Hrgovic sparring with Dubois over the past seven years, and according to Filip, it was one-sided.
That was a long time ago, and it's hard to make a case for Saturday's fight. Hrgovic turns 32 next week, on June 4, and he's all grown up now.
Anthony Joshua will be in the audience on Saturday night to watch Hrgovic vs. Dubois, and could fight the winner if the IBF belt is stripped from champion Oleksandr Usyk and made available.
Dubois Is Up for the Challenge
“I can't take any more easy steps, there are no more bullies. This is the level I should be at, and I'm ready,” said Daniel Dubois at the last press conference today talking about his fight with Filip Hrgovic.
“We have a history of sparring, but that happened seven years ago. I came to this fight on Saturday, and I will take him out on Saturday. Nothing at all, I'm ready for him,” said Dubois when he was told that Hrgovic had completely finished him with sparring.
“I am happy that he called me to fight with me. I was calling the top heavyweights and the big names, and it's a very good fight for me,” said Hrgovic about Dubois who wants to fight him.
“He has a good name and a good boxer, I can't wait for Saturday. I have more experience; I had a long novice career, and I did more than him. So, I think he has more professional fights, but I have more experience, and I think I'm taking him to school,” said Hrgovic.
