Liverpool 2024/25 pre-season: Fix and schedule

Liverpool will have their first pre-season without Jurgen Klopp for nine years as they prepare for the 2024/25 campaign.

The 56-year-old's difficult final season at Anfield is coming to an end and Liverpool are yet to announce a replacement for the iconic German. However, all signs currently point to Feyenoord's Arne Slot, who will hope to lead the Reds into a successful new season.

With change comes both nerves and excitement and Liverpool fans will be eager to see how the summer transfer window and pre-season plans affect the club ahead of next season.

Here's what we know about Liverpool's pre-season plans so far.

Liverpool will tour the United States this summer under new management, returning to North America for the first time since 2019. The Reds will likely travel across the country and already have three games scheduled against familiar opponents.

Speaking about their trip to the US, the club's commercial director Ben Latty said: “We are proud to announce our much-anticipated return to the USA which provides a great environment for the club to prepare for the upcoming season.

“The pre-season tour always offers our fans, team and official partners special opportunities to engage in memorable experiences within the club's key market.”

Liverpool usually start their pre-season campaign against lower English league teams such as Tranmere Rovers, although they went to Germany instead last season. However, it remains to be seen whether the Reds will play friendlies on home soil before fleeing to the United States.

Liverpool are likely to announce more friendly dates as the end of the season draws to a close, but as things stand they begin their pre-season tour with a game against Real Betis in Pittsburgh on July 27.

The Reds then take on two of their fiercest Premier League foes, starting with Arsenal on August 1 and then a clash with rivals Manchester United three days later. All kick-off times are early morning in the United Kingdom.
