Major League Baseball announced several suspensions today in connection with last night's matchup between the Rays and Brewers. Right hand makers of Milwaukee Freddy Peralta again Abner Uribe received suspensions of five and six games respectively. Their manager Pat Murphy received a two-match ban. Foreign player Jose Siri The Rays won three games. All four teams also received undisclosed fines.
Murphy is serving his suspension as of today but both Milwaukee pitchers are likable, according to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Siri will appeal his suspension again, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Siri struck out Peralta in the third inning and was then pinned by Peralta in the sixth. The umpires awarded and sent Peralta off, despite the fact that no warnings had been issued in the match up to that point. Murphy contested the removal of the jersey and was also ejected.
Siri also appeared in the eighth by throwing to Uribe. Siri hit something low Rhys Hoskins at first, who flipped the ball to Uribe on first down and recorded the out. Siri and Uribe exchanged words at first base before Uribe took a swipe at Siri. The two tried to throw punches at each other when different teams tried to intervene by removing benches. Both were released after the death of the fracas.

Chief of staff Chris Guccione said the players thought it was “clear” that Peralta threw Siri on purpose, although the striker denied that. “How many homers have I lost in seven years? It’s a lot, and I haven’t done anything after that,” Peralta said. “It was the first time I had been sent off in seven seasons and there was no reason for me to hit him.”
Siri, on the other hand, denied that she celebrated her run in any unusual way. “I didn't take too much time,” Siri said through Rays interpreter Manny Navarro. “I hit the ball, took a few steps and then started running as usual.”
As for the recent incident at first base, Uribe had this to say: “There were some words that were shared that had little to do with the game that probably shouldn't have been shared there in that exchange.”
His married partner explained it like this: “When I went to the first place, I just went there as usual, and he just hit me on the shoulder,” said Siri. “Then I asked him why he did that?” And he just said, 'Because that's how I felt.'”
As mentioned, Murphy serves his sentence immediately and the players all plead. Their suspension will be suspended until the appeal process is completed, although players in this situation will usually withdraw their appeal at a convenient time, such as when they were planning to have an off day.
