Chelsea's PL star can help unleash the real Mudryk

Currently, the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk at Chelsea may go down as one of the biggest mistakes in recent Premier League history.

More than a year ago, Todd Boehly spent a lifeless £89m to secure the Ukrainian striker, but his returns have not been encouraging.

Since his arrival, the winger has played 58 times for the Blues, scoring just seven times and providing four assists, which is not good enough.

However, good news is on the way for the number ten, with one Chelsea target having the chance to offload the original Mudryk if he were to join.

Chelsea's search for a left-back

According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Chelsea are eyeing a move for Premier League ace Milos Kerkez to replace Marc Cucurella or Ben Chilwell.

The Hungarian is said to be the club's 'first target', as they look to strengthen their left-back position this summer.

However, Bournemouth will not allow him to continue on the cheap, as they will want 'big money' for his arrival in the summer of 2023.

That said, the positive for the Blues is that the number three is 'keen to move' to Chelsea, as he sees the club as an opportunity to further his career.

How could Kerkez turn Mudryk into a monster

Considering he had to adapt to the Premier League quickly at the age of 20, Kerkez had an impressive first season in England.

The Hungarian international made 28 league appearances last campaign, starting 22, for a Bournemouth side that conceded 1.8 goals per game.

His role at the Cherries was to provide defensive security and focus on stopping the opposition, as evidenced by his 44.1% average possession.

However, at Chelsea, it is fair to say that Kerkez will succeed, even if he has the power to turn Mudryk into a monster.

As you can see from the table, none of Kerkez's statistics are completely amazing or outstanding, but it is important to bring nature into context when comparing performance levels.

It's fair to say that at Bournemouth, Kerkez is bound to use a style of play that doesn't suit his game, as he's a flying full-back by nature.

The defender registered just one assist last campaign, and his attendance figures were poor, but his stats in the UEFA Europa Conference League while playing for AZ Alkmaar show his true potential, with football scout Jacek Kulig describing him as. “Good” during his time at the club.

At any given opportunity, Kerkez will look to bomb forward and provide offensive support, whether that be through overlaps or stacks, as shown in the clip below.

This is the exact reason why he will help Mudryk raise his performance levels, as overcrowding can create space for the number ten to work his magic, and right now, he is on his own.

Kerkez also likes to move the ball forward quickly, through passing or possession, and his pace alongside Mudryk's will cause havoc in the attack.

Mudryk-Cucurella-Gusto

The Hungarian is used to getting forward with his nation, and will be operating as a full-back at the European Championships this summer, proving once again that he can take on attacking responsibilities.

All in all, the Premier League has yet to see the real Kerkez or Mudryk, but together, they could develop a partnership that will dominate for years to come.
