Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins Compare Their Careers in NSFW Comments

Four-time Warriors champion Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins opened up about their playing days together and discussed why people dismiss their cousins, while they embraced Green.

Green recalls a conversation he had with his former teammate in 2018, where the two discussed the difference between attitude and love — something Draymond didn't understand at the time.

“There is love, and there is attitude. They live in the same house, but the difference is how they are seen and how they are separated,” said Green in his podcast titled. The Draymond Green Show. “I remember him saying something to me in 2018, 'Man, we're the same. And they say you're romantic, and they say I'm crazy and I have an attitude,' I was like, 'Cous, you're crazy, we're not the same.' And what you're saying is, 'Nah, but you're going to win. So, they say it's your passion. I haven't won much, so they say my attitude, and I can't be coached, and I'm crazy, and this and that, and I say all that to say, I'm sorry because he was right.”

Cousins replied, “You get to a point where you learn to control what you can't control, and at the end of the day, in this life, there's going to be a mother f****** who hates you, there's going to be a mother f****** who loves you.” This is just the way it is, no matter how many things you do well. There will be something you will hate about what you do. You are doing the right thing. That's just the nature of life.”

Green has been a key part of the Warriors' success, but in his last two seasons, the Warriors have been winless.

He also got in trouble several times for foul play, most notably in the 2023-24 season, where he was suspended indefinitely at one point.

So maybe in reflection, Green finally understands where Boogie was coming from.
